Listening to Dr. King as He Listened to Others…

I was recently asked to write a chapter on the importance of communication in leadership for a book on leadership and entrepreneurship…this was quite comical to me because at this time in my life, I do not consider myself a great leader and certainly not a great communicator within leadership – I’m a doer, and a visionary, and a worker, and a fighter even at times…but leadership is definitely an area of personal growth.

As I’ve been researching for this chapter, the importance of listening in leadership has been proven true again and again.

Yesterday, we celebrated the great leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and his fight for equity for all. I came across this article, and I wanted to share. We’ll get back to looking at our targeted students next week, but I think it’s only important in our fight for equity for all within the education system to take note of the leadership style of one of the greatest fighters of all time.
